JULIE WOLFE X PAN "CRADLING THE SINGING BIRD"
A special edition art book limited to 200 copies (with serial number) created by artist Julie Wolfe and Nathalie Agussol of the art book "PAN", which is published every year with a theme.
Only available at GIGINA in Japan.
The book measures 33 x 43 cm and is a loose-bound series of 60 pages of double-sided posters. The two-page spread combines two images to create a theme of beauty and femininity.
The following is an excerpt from the foreword by Dr Rebecca Arnold.
“Dialogue through images requires a keen eye to clarify ideas, reveal meaning, and in doing so inspire other artists to respond in kind... Gradually the discussion moves from mere exchange to collaboration, creating a beautiful way of speaking through seeing.
Nathalie Agsol and Julie Wolf both create images that look sharply at nature and the everyday. Each of them is particular about form, turning to previous expressions such as birds, clouds, shells, and body fragments, and reconsidering them from their own perspectives. (snip)
Communicating through images and words, they decided to bring together their separate but aesthetically and thematically connected worlds. The new images, collected under the title "Cradling the Singing Bird," taken from a poem by Rimbaud, are visually rich. This collection represents conversations, explorations, and friendships cultivated through the creation of images that will continue to generate further thoughts and pictures in the minds of viewers. ”
