WILD ANIMALS
Rop van Mierlo is a graphic designer who draws animal paintings with a soft touch that seems to ooze out. Wild Animals (W.A.) is a project that develops products based on his works based in Amsterdam.
In 2013, his book "Wild Animals" won the Dutch Design Award for Best Design, and Italian fashion brand Marni used his works in its collection. Specializing in paintings that make watercolors blur, he doesn't want the process to be too controlled. Allow the ink to spread organically on the damp paper, like the animals you draw, and take advantage of the unpredictable bleeding. Since childhood, he has used an original style of painting that emphasizes the “uncontrolled” state, and even now, as his style has matured, he still maintains an air of innocence.
